Treadsylvania

A game designed to teach young riders the basics of ATV safety.

Treadsylvania
This online game was commissioned by the National 4H Council and the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (SVIA) to help teach children aged 10–14 about ATV safety procedures. The monster-themed story is told in a motion-comic format, with users navigating through the animated panels toadvance the story and gameplay. Safety concepts are presented in special interactive sequences.

My role in this project was as an illustrator and animator. I created original artwork for the game, laid out comic “pages,” and animated individual panels. The artwork created included backgrounds, character designs, and items. Artwork created for comic panels then had to be animated and laid out to work in the game’s programming framework.

The game can be played for free at http://www.treadsylvania.com.
